【Product features】

acrylamido-2-methyl propanesulfonic acid is a kind of allyl monomer containing sulfonic acid group, there are strong anionic and water-soluble sulfonic acid group, shielded amide group and unsaturated double bond in its structural formula, so it contains excellent combination property, complexing property, adsorbability, biological activity, surface activity, hydrolytic stability and good heat stability. In aqueous solution, AMPS monomer hydrolysis rate is very slow, the aqueous solution of its sodium salt has excellent hydrolysis resistance especially in the condition of more than PH>9. Under acidic condition, the hydrolytic resistance of AMPS homopolymer is far better than polyacrylamide.

【Application】

AMPS can be both used for copolymerization and homopolymerisation, it is widely used in oilfield chemistry, water treatment, synthetic fiber, printing and dyeing, plastic, paper making, water absorbing coating, biomedicine, magnetic materials, cosmetics and other various fields.

1. Water treatment: homopolymer of the AMPS monomer or the copolymer with acrylamide, crylic acid and other monomer can be used as the mud dehydrating agent in sewage purification process, it can be used for preservative of Fe, Zn, Al, Cu and alloy under closed water circulation system, and it is also used for the disincrustant and antisludging agent of heater, cooling tower, air cleaner and gas purifier.

2. Oilfield chemistry: the products application is rapidly developing in the field of oilfield chemistry. Involved scope includes oil well cement additive, drilling fluid treating agent, acidizing fluid, fracturing fluid, completion fluid, workover fluid additive and the like.

3. Synthetic fibre: AMPS is the important monomer to improve the combination property of some synthetic fibre, especially for acrylic fibers or modacrylic fiber with chloride, the dosage is 1%-4% of fiber, capable of obviously improving whiteness, dyeing property, anti-static electricity, permeability and fire resistance of the fiber.

4. Sizing agent of textile: the copolymer of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl propanesulfonic acid, acetic ether and crylic acid is the ideal slurry of cotton and polyester blended fabrics, it is easy to use and remove by water.

5. Paper making: the copolymer of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl propanesulfonic acid and other water-soluble monomer is the indispensable chemical for various kinds of paper mill, it can be used as drainage addition agent and sizing agent to increase paper strength, and also can be used as pigment dispersing agent of colorful coating.

【Safety and protection】 

AMPS is white tiny crystal particle, its aqueous solution is strong acid, so, when AMPS is used, be sure to wear protective glasses, gloves and mask to prevent it touching skin and eye. Once AMPS stains your skin, be sure to immediately wash it by a large amount of water, if AMPS splashes into eye, immediately wash it with fresh water for at least 15min, and then, be sure to rapidly go to hospital for examination and treatment.
